Come on down to Windsurfing Wednesdays at Jericho! Windsurfing Wednesdays is an opportunity to get out with fellow board riders on the water for a session and hang out afterwards for beverages on the patio and sometimes BBQs. Our next Windsurfing Wednesdays event is on July 13th. Please meet up at approximately 5:45pm at the grassy area by the windsurfers with your fellow windsurfers and go and have a blast.

Many high wind members also like heading out to windsurfing Wednesdays to socialize and muck around on the water. I think I can speak for all of them when I say that we are happy to offer tips to L1 and L2 members who are interested in new tricks or drills that will take them to the next level. Just ask! > > I'm going to try to get there by 6:00pm on Wednesday. If people are interested I would be happy to run a half hour clinic and could do so each week (weather dependent). The topics can be either ad hoc based on what people would like to work on or more organized with scheduled topics. Examples might be: > > 1. fast tacks - how to tack a shortboard, even when you're on a longboard > 2. gybes - moving from pivot gybes to carve gybes > 3. backwinded sailing - how to get backwinded and stay backwinded > 4. heli tacks - intro plus high wind tips > 5. upwind 360's - once you get them they're easier than helis! > 6. ducking the sail - Seeing Robbie Naish do a duck gybe in the waves is what first got me hooked on windsurfing > 7. how to sail efficiently - early planing and staying upwind > etc. > > I know that Randy is a big exponent of practicing high wind moves in light wind (as am I). All of these topics fit the bill so they're as applicable for L2 grads as well as current L1 and L2 students. > > Peter
