SAILING REGATTA (Open to all skill levels)

• Learn the right of way rules, flags, and basic racing
strategy/rules at the Meeting/Mini Racing Clinic
• Sign-up for the regatta is on a first-come basis.  People
will be paired with appropriate sailing partners.
• Two classes: Advance (Multihull and RS500) and Standard
Performance (FJ, Vanguard, Laser) with boats scored using
  a handicapping system
• The number of starts will be discussed at the meeting.

STAND-UP PADDLE JOUSTING (Open to all skill levels)

• Each competitor will go head-to-head three times with
another stand-up paddler; they will fight using pool
noodles until a competitor ends up in the water.
• The jouster with the fewest water landing will be the victor.

KAYAK TUG-O-WAR (Open to all skill levels)

• Each competitor will go head-to-head against another
kayaker and will try to pull the other kayak across the line.

MULTIFLEET TEAM PURSUIT (Open to all skill levels)

• Each team must be composed of six people that can sail an
  FJ, Vanguard, and multihull.
• A course will be provided; the winning team will have all
their boats across the finish line.

BOAT BUILDING COMPETITION (aka Boat Sinking Competition)

• Teams set at start of day (12 max per team); tools/materials
distributed at 12 PM for the competition at 4:15 PM
• The craft must hold two people, one male and one female.
Teams vote on who gets to sail the craft and who gets to
be a landlubber. Landlubbers can throw water balloons and
  insults.
• Paddling with the hands or a paddle (if you choose to make
one) is allowed. ‘Pool Noodling’ is allowed, but keep it
clean. Splashing water on the opposition with hands is
encouraged, splashing with a paddle is not allowed.
Swimming or paddling with the feet is not allowed.
Ramming, crashing, grabbing, pushing, and boarding parties
  are not allowed.
• Scoring will be based on time and distance: score =
minutes x distance reached; so both speed and endurance
  are important
• A craft will be considered 'sunk' when the crowd says so.

BBQ, AWARDS CEREMONY & SOCIAL (for all)

This is your chance to enjoy the company of your fellow
sailors. Competition winners will receive their prizes and
get a chance to hoist the UBC Sailing Classic Cup. A DJ will
spin fun tunes into the evening; come prepared to celebrate
our birthday with members past and present!
